i think of you sometimes
wondering if you’ve gotten
smaller or larger
if that little jade buddha
on black plastic stand
brought any good luck at all
I think of you sometimes
wondering if you discarded
Red Skelton doll
if dream catcher
is full or depleted
and if misty is still alive
i think of you sometimes
how you’d cry yourself
to sleep at night
wake up feeling top of the world
brave soul
i think of you, sometimes
remembrances of your drawings
little stick indians and teepees
standing along a river
the tree that you sketched for me
hope that they’re not all packed up
uncaringly in some old cardboard box
and I pray this for you, as well
i think of you, sometimes

It’s the little things in life that we remember the most..
love the simplicity of this poem, yet it says so much..

Good Morning, Lynne! Thank you for reading and commenting. 🙂
It’s inexplicable how this is a breathing and breathtaking write.
Why, thank you, Abdul. I am delighted to see you here…
This feels as if written to a lost child. K.
a very close lost friend–that’s the way life goes sometimes…
sweet….

Brilliant, Mary. Sheesh. O how I hate second sites. But you are truly a poet’s poet. The pot of gold at the end of the dragging-footed journey to the dreaded second site.
Kind of you to visit me here. I do appreciate it. 🙂

What a lovely compliment. Thank you, Liz. 🙂
Minimalistic and simple. I love the line that goes:
“if dream catcher
is full or depleted”
I had a dream catcher once. Thanks for bringing back memories.
