Blog of The Year 2012 Award – 5th Star

Thank you, Pat Garcia at:  http://garciaandwalkon.me/ for nominating mypenandme for this award.  Thank you for being such a wonderful source of  inspiration to many, including me.  You rock!

And here are the rules:

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award.

2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.

3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them

5 You can now also join the award’s Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience if you choose to

6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favorite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!

Here are the 6 awards in thumbnail size for your sidebar – feel free to Right Click and save any of the images on this page:

2.Link back to the person who nominated you,
3.State seven things about yourself,
4.Nominate fifteen other bloggers for this award and link to them,
5.Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award’s requirements.

7 current things about me are:

1.  I wish I could find a website that lists many of the loglines from “produced” screenplays in one long list.  If you know of one, please let me know.

2.  My workplace is giving the staff four extra days off between December 24th and January 1st.  I am grateful and I am smiling.

3.  Tomorrow I am going Christmas shopping with hopes of completing it all.  If I end up downtown and if it’s not raining, I will take my camera to get some outdoor shots.

4.  Today I was looking at some of Andy Summers’ black and white photography online.  He is an amazing photographer.

5.  The next screenwriting book that I am going to read is:  The Screenwriter’s Bible; a complete guide to writing, formatting and selling your script 4th ed., expanded & updated, 3rd Silman-James Press ed – by David Trottier.

6.  Last summer, I managed to grow a beautiful avocado plant from a pit.  This week I set up three more pits in water, held in place by toothpicks.  I am crossing my fingers that this will again be successful.

7.  Every morning while sipping my morning coffee, I read blogs.  Every morning, I lose track of time and have to hurry like heck to get ready for work, afterward.  Lol…

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  I wish all of my readers and friends a happy weekend.

Best regards,

mypenandme

One Lovely Blog Award

Thank you to Joelle  Jean-Baptiste (JoelleWrites) at:  http://joellewrites.wordpress.com/ for nominating mypenandme for this award.

The suggested guidlelines for this award are as follows:

1. Link back to the person who nominated you

2. Post the award image to your page

3. Tell 7 facts about yourself

4. Nominate 15 other bloggers you admire, and let them know about the nomination

7 facts about me:

1.  I’m doing a theme on monarch migration with my nursery school class and my school age program.  Today I showed the nursery school children this delightful video by Lucas Miller:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01epJR2Dzzs

2.  One of the six books that I am currently reading is entitled, THINKERTOYS – a handbook of creative-thinking techniques by Michael Michalko.

3.  One of the hundreds of ideas mentioned in this book is to change your regular habits for a day, a week, a month, or whatever.  A few of the examples are:  Take a different route to work, listen to a different radio station, read a different newspaper, change your reading habits, take a bath instead of a shower, etc.  So…today, instead of reading in front of the computer monitor or on a sofa in the living room, I put a chair in the middle of the kitchen and read there.  The lighting was terrific, I stayed more alert and I read way more in one sitting than I normally would with no distractions.  It was wonderful.

4.  I told someone today, “I don’t know why I keep forgetting your name.  You have the same first name as my favourite artist and one of my favourite writers.”  He smiled.

5.  I have added more screenwriting links to my blogroll.

6.  Three of my favourite quotes are:

“Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.” – Pablo Picasso

“No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader.” – George Moore

“Why do writers write?  Because it isn’t there.” – Thomas Berger

7.  This isn’t about me, but Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends and readers in the United States.

Now…I’m afraid that I do not have 15 nominees, but the links that I’m about to share with you, I’ve really enjoyed.  In some cases the links will take you to a particular article that I was reading when I clicked on, follow.

I am pretty certain that some of the above sites/blogs do not participate in awards, but some might.  At any rate I wanted to share these with you.

Thanks for taking the time to read.  I now have to print out and cut out a bunch of monarch butterflies to take to work with me, tomorrow.  I also have to crazy glue a toy camera back together.  Lol.  It’s 1:00 a.m.  I had better hurry it up.

With best regards,
