The Dragon’s Loyalty Award

Usually, there are a few rules that go with awards and this one is no exception: 1.  Display the Award Certificate on your website 2.  Announce your win with a post and link to whoever presented your award 3.  Present 15 or so awards to deserving bloggers 4.  Drop them a comment to tip them off after you’ve linked them in the post 5.  Post 7 interesting things about yourself.

A Dragon is a protector, still a warrior for the good and the honest. And Dragons love poetry, gems, modesty, painting, photography – and yes, writing!

My nominees:

The following list represents a few of the blogs I’ve recently discovered and like very much!  If you are a recipient and do not accept awards, no problem.  I’m still delighted to share your link with my readers.

2.  I finally bought that new camera.

3.  I attended Jeffery Straker’s sold out gig this past week.  I wish him well as he continues his tour across Canada.

4.  Last night I attended a concert at Massey Hall.  Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell with RICHARD THOMPSON!!!  I have fond memories of discovering Emmylou’s recordings in the 1980s and Richard Thompson…well what can I say!  I have all of his albums except for the new one.

5.   Today was my mom’s 83rd birthday.  I had her over for dinner, cake and presents.

6.  Weight loss update:  I’ve lost 18 pounds since January.

For those nominees who accept awards and wish to participate:

1.  Display the award badge as prominently on your site as you are inclined… if you like.

2.  Publish a post to inform the world of your great achievement(s)…

3.  Nominate some fellow bloggers (who have been outstanding in their field… figuratively or literally)… if you feel inclined

4.  Indicate to your nominees that they have received the award… provided you have completed step three.

As I’ve always said, one of the things that I most like about being nominated for awards is the opportunity to share blogs that I’ve recently discovered with my readers and friends.   My nominees are:

As for any great achievements, I have none to tell you about yet.  My three New Year’s Resolutions:

1.  Sign up for Netflix, watch many movies and read their scripts.

I signed up for netflix and I am doing this.

2.  Join Weight Watchers and get rid of those few extra pounds.

I joined last Monday and four days later I have already lost two pounds.

3.  Finish the screenplay by December 31st, 2013 by actively working on it every day to make it the best it can be.

In progress…

With best regards,

Mary Ann Blinkhorn

Blog of The Year 2012 Award – 4th Star

Thank you to Renee at Positive Boomer – http://positiveboomer.net/ for being the fourth blog to nominate mypenandme for this award.  I am truly honoured.

At this time, I’d like to say thank you to all my friends and followers, those who leave likes and/or comments, or anyone who just pops in to take a peek. I appreciate you all!

And here are the rules:

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award.

2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.

3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them

5 You can now also join the award’s Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience if you choose to

6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favorite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!

Here are the nominees I have chosen:

Congratulations to these nominees!

With best regards,
