cloud-filled sky
hanging mistakes
it revolves around times
of the pendulum
weirdo
weary cranium
truckload of pens to the dumpster
i adjust my words
to say
i respect you
now shove off
you’re not my problem

and there they were
two old friends in the shopping mall, warmly smiling
we hugged
talked about old times
like how Neals used to
bring his trumpet to the
annual holiday sing-a-longs at the day care centre
play alongside of me
me on the piano
Patsy singing harmonies like an angel
we celebrated
Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa and Ramadan
all in the same celebration
the sounds of children’s and staff’s voices
singing gleefully, singing respectfully
like one big happy family
we were one big happy family
such beautiful memories
left me with a warm feeling of peace
