left me with a warm feeling of peace

and there they were

two old friends in the shopping mall, warmly smiling

we hugged

talked about old times

like how Neals used to

bring his trumpet to the

annual holiday sing-a-longs at the day care centre

play alongside of me

me on the piano

Patsy singing harmonies like an angel

we celebrated

Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa and Ramadan

all in the same celebration

the sounds of children’s and staff’s voices

singing gleefully, singing respectfully

like one big happy family

we were one big happy family

such beautiful memories

left me with a warm feeling of peace

It was beautiful. It brought all the families together–mommies, daddies, aunts, uncles, grandparents used to join us as well. There were four walls–one decorated for Christmas, one decorated for Chanukah, one decorated for Kwanzaa and one decorated with the moon and stars for Ramadan.

  2. What beautiful memories, and such a rich heritage! Z

Love it… gave me a nice warm feeling…

  4. Hard to imagine a trumpet at singalongs. Unless they were college football fight songs of course.
