spineless bird

spineless bird

touches the horn

sings in octaves,

convulsions and spasms

no semi-tones beneath

her wings

what did she expect?

parrots can’t ever be doves

no matter how extended

their long batting eyelashes

I love all your poetry–the cleanness, the undertones, how it looks on the page, unadulterated but rich. Thank you for it.

    Witty and clever.
